Size: 4" Bromeliad Houseplant
Potted bromeliads typically last 2 to 5 years, with the mother plant gradually dying after its single, long-lasting bloom (which can last months) to produce energy for new "pups," or offsets, that continue the life cycle once separated and repotted. After flowering, trim the spent bloom, continue watering the central cup and roots, provide bright indirect light, and focus on nurturing the "pups" (offsets) that emerge, as the mother plant will slowly die; separate pups when they are 1/3 to 1/2 the parent's size and pot them in well-draining soil.
