Sixe 1 gallon, Centranthus ruber 'Pretty Betsy'
Red blossoms throughout summer
Flowers are scented
Infrequent pests or diseases
This woody-based perennial is valued for its showy clusters of star-shaped, rose-red blooms that perform well even in poor soils. It has a bushy, clump-forming habit and the flowers are fragrant. If not deadheaded, fluffy dandelion-like seeds will be produced and disbursed.
Deadhead after blooming to prevent the spread of seeds if desired. This will also encourage additional blooming. Grow in well-drained soils. Can tolerate dry soil once established and can thrive in poor, infertile soils.
