Beginning in May this evergreen shrub produces 3" white flowers with a red blotch at the base of each petal. The golden stamens sit in the center of this "star"- very attractive. While the individual flowers may be short lived, new buds continue to bloom in a constant succession through early summer. Prefers full sun; tolerates poor soils.
