Size 4", Commonly known as blanketflower, Gaillardia is a vigorous, long-blooming, hardy perennial that is both heat-loving and drought tolerant. Plants produce mounds of soft green, slightly hairy foliage in spring. By early summer they begin to produce daisy-like flowers in fiery tones of orange-red with yellow tips. These have darker-colored centers and are attractive to butterflies. Regular deadheading will encourage fresh blooms from summer into late fall.
