The bright orange fruit of this variety can be eaten like an apple, or if allowed to soften like a tomato, it is even sweeter. This tree will start to bear fruit about 2 years after planting, and is self-fertile. Orange to scarlet fall color adds to the ornamental value. Mulch heavy for winter protection.
